I would definitely aim to see Amber Wagner (she makes an wonderful sound) and Yonghoon is a very compelling and powerful voice indeed and an excellent Calaf. I think this will be his first Calaf (?). Alternate casts are Dragana Radakovic and Andeka Gorrotxategi. You’ll hear an amazing chorus, and the cast is also very very good - Amber Wagner as Turandot, and Yonghoon Lee as Calaf. The production is wonderful - it’s directed by a ballet dancer, Graeme Murphy, and it features lots of amazing movement and choreography. Turandot is a big mythical piece it’s a sort of fantasy. Boheme is very moving - most of the audience will bring tissues for the last act, and it’s hard not to get caught up in the emotion that Puccini’s music brings out.

I’d probably go the first, but Maja is also a beautiful Mimì - it’s just that Diego Torre isn’t a typical looking Rodolfo - he can sure sing though, so either cast is good. You have the choice between Joyce El-Kouhry as Mimì paired with Ivan Magrì as Rodolfo (they’re good), and Maja Kovalevska and Diego Torre is the other cast. La Bohème is the most familiar - it is “easy” music (but brilliant, colourful, detailed, bloody clever), the story is easy to follow, the characters are “real people”, the production is flashy and beautiful, and the cast seems good.

There are cheaper tickets to all of these, I’m sure. They are staging La Boheme, Turandot, and Wozzeck opens soon too.
